A truly unique experience in an untouched wilderness, the private Kavinga concession offers exceptional walking safaris in the ancient hills and river systems surrounding the camp. You can also go out for a game drive or hang out in their photographic hide, at waterhole level, enjoying the incredible chance to be right in the middle of a herd of African wildlife.

Comfortable airy tents
Each tent has been designed with an emphasis on privacy and is surrounded by insect-repellent gauze, allowing the air to circulate, contributing to maximum coolness. Inside each tent are 2 comfortable beds in flexible arrangements, to cater for everyone’s needs, as well as an ensuite bathroom.
The Lounge Area
Kavinga’s central dining and lounge area has two decks and a pristine pool with magnificent views across the dry riverbed and to the waterhole below. At night you can relax around central a firepit to and enjoy gazing at the stars while keeping an eye out for nocturnal visitors at the watering hole.
The photographic hide
Kavinga Safari Camp’s termite mound-shaped photographic hide was creatively designed to keep you cool while offering an astonishing 180-degree view of the water hole from elephant-foot level. The perfect place to sit and watch the wildlife go by as you wait for that perfect photo opportunity.

The Views
This exclusive camp consists of 7 comfortable raised tents, built on the edge of the cliff, facing east, with a view of the rising sun above the magnificent Zambezi Valley floor. In front of each tent a private verandah reaches directly over the edge of the cliff, giving a feeling of infinite space.
The Nightlife
Kavinga Camp is famous for its sightings of the elusive nocturnal animals that call the Zambezi Valley home, such as porcupines, leopards, honey badgers or even an aardvark! After the sun sets, keep a watchful eye on the watering hole to see who comes to drink.
The African Pitta
The African Pitta has been spotted on the Kavinga concession for the last 3 years. Other sightings special bird sightings include the Egyptian Vulture, Grasshopper Buzzard, Western Yellow Wagtail and Basra Reed Warbler, as well as large colonies of Bee Eaters.
