On the shores of Lake Kariba, within the Matusadona National Park in Zimbabwe, rests the magical oasis of Fothergill. Comprising of two separate but linked camps, surrounded by handsome lawns and bush, there is always a glimpse of the lake in view.
Fothergill is an intimate retreat with 10 spacious tented suites: the Lake Suites, comprising five luxury suites and two family suites, plus three additional suites at Little Fothergill that can either be booked exclusively or combined as part of the Lake Suites.

Private plunge pools
Each Lake and Bush suit has a private plunge pool on the deck. This allows you to relax in the privacy of your suit, as you lay poolside and enjoy the sights and sounds of the surrounding bush.
The Gym
Work up a sweat as the sun rises over Lake Kariba or enjoy some yoga with the sounds of the wilderness as your background music. Equipped with lake views, exercise bikes, kettlebells, dumbbells, step benches, jump ropes, and more, Fothergill’s gym is the ultimate bush gym.
Safari Activities
The Fothergill team provides several land and water-based activities. From game drives and bush walks to Kariba Town tours, with fishing, sunset cruises and boating safaris in between, Fothergill guides are always on hand to share their wealth of wildlife knowledge.

Little Fothergill
The perfect escape for those looking for complete privacy, Little Fothergill is available for exclusive use or as an extension to the main camp. This secluded corner of the island has its own dedicated team, including a private guide and vehicle, and a personal chef.
The history
Fothergill celebrates its rich history of conservation stretching back to the 1960s when the flooding lake displaced thousands of animals and people forcing them to flee to higher ground.

Fothergill’s action-packed offerings ensure children of all ages are kept entertained (and educated) and allow families to share profound moments. When you’re not exploring the wilderness or cruising the lake, the expansive lawns around camp provide the perfect space for kids to play while you relax poolside.
